Ascension Festivities (Santiago de Compostela)

As every year, young and not so young are looking forward to the beginning of the Ascension Festivities, which are celebrated in the capital of Galicia between May 8 - 12. As usual, visitors and local people, parades and musical groups, giants and big-heads, attractions, fireworks, great concerts and a lot of party will be the great protagonists of this event.

The welcoming Alamenda Park has a privileged location since it surrounds a part of the historical centre and it will be the responsible for housing the fairground, where the different typical stalls are set up and in which you will be able to taste the mythic “pulpo á feira”.

This year, as in the previous ones, there will also be great concerts that will fill Santiago with music and party. When older, cultural activities will be distributed throughout the city and will, in general, be open access.

There is no excuse for not coming to this party. Monbus offers you different options to get there: by means of our regular lines from any town available, renting a bus for groups, planning the travel the way you want, or perhaps being at the wheel of a hired car without driver.
