Tarragona Carnival
Tarragona Carnival is a traditional and historic celebration because its origins go back to the parties that were celebrated by the Romans.
From the 2nd to the 13th of February you can enjoy Tarragona Carnival which keeps old elements such as the presence of the Carnival King who, together with the young Queen, is the central part of all the acts that are carried out.
By means of activities for everyone, a ritual sequence marks the rhythm of the party every year, from the Sunday previous to the Lardero Thursday to the Mardigras with the burial of the Carnival King.
It is impossible to forget one of the most characteristic acts of these parties: the Golden Costume show, where the Queens and the Kings of the groups parade dressed in elegant finery, with a staging worthy of admiration.
The gastronomy also plays an important role in this party, since it has a series of typical products such as a cake made of cold cuts or the blood sausage.
